What is life like in Pau?

Bonjour! I am looking at moving to Pau and would love to know more about it ahead of my first visit:

1. What do you like/dislike about life in Pau?

2. What are the biggest safety concerns in the city?

3. If I dont have a car, is it easy enough to use public transport to get into nature on the weekends?

4. Where is the best place to search for rentals?

5. What is the language barrier like? I did French in school, but I’m not fluent (yet☺️)
