What is causing this and is it normal?

I am finishing up a kithcen remodel where we tore down a wall and had flooring people come in and match new flooring to existing flooring. It looks pretty good but in a couple of spots it looks like this. Is this normal or is there a way to make these couple of spots look better? Not sure if my expectations are too high. Thank you.
