Question about men from a female.

Why is it that some men are so gung-ho on anal? Like I don't completely understand it. Almost every guy I have been with has wanted me to try it and up until recently I always always always said no. But after some talking with some people some said it's an experience that you'll never know unless you know so I decided to let my fiance finally do it. I don't see much of a big whoop over it. Just hurt then felt awkward? Idk I just don't understand it and wanted a man to explain please 😅😭 because I know it's not the same experience for y'all as it is for us.
