Potentially inaccurate 23andme results
I have been under the impression my whole life that I had some Asian roots/decent due to my mom’s side (Grandpa in particular). I have always known I am also black and mostly of African decent so that is not the surprise. I was never 100% sure as to where exactly my Grandpa (mom’s dad) was from because I don’t think he is 100% sure where his roots are from as far as EXACTLY WHERE in Asia. But he has always said maybe Korean or Filipino. In my opinion I look similar to him and others agree, and I get asked all the time if I have some sort of Asian in my DNA from random people that I meet. But my 23andme results don’t include any at all. Is it possible that it could be a mistake and would it be worth it to try AncestryDNA or some other DNA testing kit? I’ve included my results, a picture of me and my grandpa when I graduated highschool , me now, and my mom (she is the very last picture and is holding me when I was little) and my mom is 100% my biological mother and as far as I and my mom know, my Grandpa is 100% biologically related as well. Any advice, thoughts, opinions? Thanks
